Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Rat, an iPhone walking companion with a virtual pet, uses data. The developer is Aleksandr Saksonov (GoosApp). Contact: goosappteam@gmail.com.

Your data in the app

No account or registration is required. The current version has no advertising, analytics SDKs or user tracking. The developer does not receive your step counts, precise location or game progress on a developer-operated server.

Steps and Apple Health

With your permission, the app reads the total number of steps for the current day through Apple HealthKit. New steps replenish an in-game balance used to explore the city and visit neighbors. The app does not write or change data in Health. HealthKit data is not used for advertising, marketing or tracking. You can change access in Apple's Health and privacy settings.

Location and maps

With your permission, the app uses your location while you use it to show you on the map, find nearby places and check the distance when collecting supplies. It does not track your location in the background. Maps and place searches use Apple MapKit and Apple services. These requests are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. The app does not send your precise location to the developer's server.

Data stored on your device

Game progress, the step balance, the state of your home, records used to account for steps and the chosen interface language are stored locally. Collected-place records may include the name and coordinates of a place and the collection time. Search results and the search area may also be cached locally. Device backups may include app data, depending on your iOS and iCloud settings.

Permissions and deletion

You can decline or revoke Health and location access. The home part of the app remains available, while step import and location-dependent features will be limited. Deleting the app removes its local data from the device. Backups are managed separately through Apple. Deleting Rat does not delete or modify step history in Health. There is no account or manual progress transfer in the current version.

Support requests

If you email us, we receive your email address and the content you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and resolve the issue. Your and our email providers also process the correspondence. Please do not send Health history, precise location, passwords or other unnecessary personal information. This website

These pages are hosted on a Contabo VPS. When you visit, the server receives technical request information, such as your IP address, browser user agent, requested page, time and response status. Standard access logs are used to operate the website and investigate errors or misuse. Logs are normally kept for about two weeks before older entries are removed by automatic rotation. These pages use no analytics, advertising, tracking cookies or embedded third-party fonts.

Other services

Apple provides Health, location, maps, the App Store and any device backup services you enable. Opening Apple links or sending an email involves the policies of those services. Game progress and Health data are not uploaded to this website.
